Unitized curtain systems comprised of huge glass units that are created and glazed within a factory premise and then shipped as a single unit to the construction site and erected on the building. As there is no on-site glazing involved, one of the major benefit of using a unitized system is the speed of installation.
Aluminium profiles used to form the frame, that is normally as high as one-storey building. The aluminium walls contain infills of glass, aluminium spandrel panels, thin composite panels, or concrete spandrel panels. Opening vents, glazing, and infill panels are built into units before being transported to the site.
With unitized curtain wall forming the core component of the external envelope of the building, thermal efficiency, sound transmission and fire safety become the key performance criteria of the system.
